German Hernandez is the head of Spencer Stuart’s Technology, Media, Telecommunications & Professional Service Practice for the Americas. A respected and long-established leader within the semiconductor and technology industries, German brings more than 20 years of experience with global corporations, top leaders and government agencies across the region, in both high-growth and high-risk markets. German works with major technology firms and startups across the United States and Latin America on searches and succession projects for CEO, general manager, country manager, C-suite executives and boards.

Technology industry leader and leader advisor

  • Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, German was an independent consultant who advised companies and government institutions in Latin America on technology implementation. He served as an adviser on education platforms to the Minister of Telecommunications and Technology Information in Colombia, and helped develop Colombia’s IT strategy, Vive Digital 2.0.
  • Earlier, German held various leadership roles with Freescale Semiconductor, formerly a division of Motorola, culminating as director of sales and operations for Latin America.
  • He began his career with the San Diego-based consultancy group of SAIC (Science Application International Corporation), a leading technology services government contractor in Colombia and Venezuela.
