James Trimming

Based in London, James Trimming leads the UK Financial Officer Practice for Spencer Stuart.

With more than 17 years of executive search experience, James brings extensive expertise to his role, completing senior management assignments across both corporate and financial institutions.
As a functional finance expert, James has worked with a broad spectrum of clients ranging from FTSE 100/250 and multinational corporations to smaller, privately-owned businesses. He has successfully worked with clients to recruit CFOs and regional finance directors as well as specialist roles including tax, treasury, strategy, IR and audit & risk.
Outside of his functional work, James has worked extensively across the global and capital markets arena, where his focus has been recruiting senior finance professionals. His clients include leading investment banks, large asset managers, hedge funds and emerging market firms in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, James was a principal at another global search firm. Previously, he worked for an international private client business where he was responsible for managing high-net worth individuals.

James is a graduate of Southampton University.
