Erik Wordelman is the global Medical Technology Practice leader and a senior member of Spencer Stuart’s CEO, Board and Private Equity practices. He specializes in CEO and board director succession and recruitment across all segments of the medical technology sector and Healthcare Practice, serving clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to private equity-backed enterprises. Erik has advised companies around leadership issues such as spins, mergers and public offerings and manages many of firm’s key global relationships. He brings more than three decades of combined executive search and industry experience to his search work.
Firsthand healthcare expertise
- Before joining Spencer Stuart, Erik led the medical technology practice in North America for another leading international executive search firm. He was also area manager of the firm’s Minneapolis/St. Paul office.
- Prior to entering the search business, Erik held various executive leadership positions at Medtronic within multiple markets, including the cardiovascular, neuromodulation and diabetes segments. He gained deep experience in the functional areas of mergers and acquisitions, new ventures, marketing and finance.
- Erik began his career at Deloitte & Touche, with a focus on the life sciences market.
Erik earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and holds an inactive CPA certification.
