Mary Gorman, based in Spencer Stuart’s Boston office, is a member of the Education, Nonprofit & Government Practice. She brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in educational institutions to her role.
Mary’s recent search assignments included recruiting presidents, provosts, deans, executive vice presidents, and chief financial officers for the country’s leading universities, nonprofits, and independent schools. Experienced working with mission-driven organizations, Mary has partnered effectively with multi-stakeholder search committees, helping them achieve alignment, and encouraging them to think creatively about the organization’s leadership. In the past year, Mary has worked with search committees from leading organizations such as the National Gallery of Art, Phillips Academy, University of Virginia, and the United States Olympic Committee.
Mary’s search work is informed by the more than twenty years she spent at leading educational organizations. As the Associate Provost and Executive Officer at Dartmouth College, Mary was a key adviser to the Provost and focused on a broad range of academic and operational initiatives. She worked closely with the leadership, faculty, and Board of the College. Earlier in her career, Mary spent 13 years at Phillips Exeter Academy as the director of financial planning and resident faculty member. She began her career at Wesleyan University.
Mary holds a master’s degree from the School of Management at Yale University and a bachelor’s degree in French from Middlebury College.
