Jorge Gouveia de Oliveira is a member of Spencer Stuart’s Industrial Practice and is based in London. He is particularly focused on senior-level executive and board assignments for companies in the metals and mining, transport and logistics and business services sectors. In addition, he specialises in the supply chain function and works across the consumer, industrial and technology sectors to meet clients’ requirements for experts in procurement, manufacturing and operations, logistics and integrated supply chain.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Jorge specialised in strategy and corporate finance, with a career spanning investment banking, strategy consulting and the corporate sector. He has held senior positions in the corporate finance and M&A departments of JPMorgan and Credit Suisse in London, where he advised a variety of global companies in the industrial, metals and mining, defence and consumer products industries. In 2003, Jorge joined Monitor Group, the strategy consultancy created by Michael Porter, where he played a key role in developing the Russian business. At Monitor, he also worked closely with leading private equity firms, advising them on pan-European leveraged buyouts and liaising with their management teams. In 2007, Jorge joined the founding management team of Nyrstar in London, a leading metals company in the process of an IPO, with responsibility for strategy and M&A.
Jorge has a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Porto in Portugal and holds an M.B.A. from INSEAD in France. Prior to earning his M.B.A., Jorge worked with Procter & Gamble in Lisbon.
