Carl Gilchrist leads the Information Officer Practice in North America and brings more than 30 years of information technology knowledge to his recruitment effort, providing him with the expertise to search for senior information technology executives.
Carl has placed more than 300 chief information officers and other information technology leaders across a broad range of industries. His understanding of business processes and trends in information technology has led to placements at Babson College, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Alabama, Burton Snowboards, Celanese, Ciena, Express Scripts, FleetCor Technologies, Hertz, Hewlett-Packard Company, Hilton Worldwide, Kroger Company, Merck & Company, Medtronic, Ryder, SuperMedia, Travelocity, TJX Companies, US Airways, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Zimmer. He also has worked with many of the top private equity firms.
Carl is a five-time recipient of the firm’s annual Lou Rieger Quality Award. Also, he has been a member of the firm’s partner nomination and client services committees.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart in 1998, Carl was managing partner of another international executive search firm. Previously, he held numerous executive positions in sales, marketing and services with IBM. Carl received a bachelor of science degree in business and public administration with a concentration in marketing from the University of Maryland.
